SENTAMANS Traductores S.L. is headed by Jose Sentamans, an AIIC-member interpreter based in Valencia, who holds a conference interpreter with a Degree in Translation and Interpreting obtained in 2005 (Universitat Jaume I) and a European Master’s in Conference Interpreting completed in 2011 (EMCI La Laguna), who has provided his services at top-level events in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, UK; Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea, among other countries.

• 2005–2009. Works as an in-house translator at the UK headquarters of SDL International–RWS, one of the world’s leading translation companies.

• 2011. Passes the prestigious and rigorous European Master in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) at the University of La Laguna, the only programme in Spain that has the backing since 1988 of the European Commission and the European Parliament, which provide training support during the course and chair the final examination panel.

• 2012. Is invited by the SCIC of the European Commission to take the interinstitutional test for interpreters of the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Court of Justice. While this does not constitute official accreditation, he passes the simultaneous interpreting and consecutive interpreting tests in the English > Spanish combination.

• Since 2013. Coordinates the simultaneous and consecutive interpreting workshops WISE Interpreting Workshops (which won the Best Simultaneous Interpreting Workshop Award in 2015), and which are held every summer in Valencia and Brussels — reaching their 10th edition in 2023 — with participating interpreters from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, India, Italy, Peru, Spain, United Kingdom or Switzerland to perfect their technique.

• 2023 – 2025. Member of the select group of interpreters of AICE, the Spanish Association of Conference Interpreters, after a rigorous application process during which his training, experience, professional ethics and interpreting quality are validated through a live test, prior to final approval by the approximately 90 interpreters who make up the association.

• 2026. He becomes a member of AIIC, the world’s leading professional body for conference interpreters—founded in 1953 by interpreters who had worked at the Nuremberg Trials and recognised by both the European Union and the United Nations as a counterpart in sectoral negotiations. His admission as a member of AIIC, following yet another rigorous candidacy process endorsed by long-standing members of the association, represents the highest distinction a conference interpreter can attain.

The exceptional nature of this triple milestone —his EMCI degree, membership of AICE, and membership of AIIC— offers compelling evidence of both the rigour of his training and his international professional standing.

Member of Eventoplus and the Valencia Convention Bureau, as well as regional associations such as AVIC, ASETRAD and La Xarxa, and always in close contact with the academic world, Jose has delivered courses and talks at national and international conferences such as ETIM, TRADICAN or TerpSummit, professional associations of translators and interpreters such as ASETRAD or La Xarxa, and numerous universities such as the European University of Valencia, the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, the University of Alicante, Comillas Pontifical University, the Autonomous University of Madrid, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of La Laguna.
